Fatima Mata National College

                                                               Fatima Mata National College, with years of service, remains the pride of the Roman Catholic (Latin Rite) Diocese of Quilon. Established in 1951 by Bishop Jerome Fernandez, this institution of higher learning is dedicated to the task of equipping young men and women for responsible roles in India’s national life. The Fatima motto  PER MATREM PRO PATRIA (Through the Mother for the Fatherland) encapsulates this idea of Marian devotion as instrumental in the cultivation of social responsibility

National Service Scheme

                                                               The National Service Scheme is an all-India Scheme initiated by the Union Ministry of Education & the Youth Services for implementation in colleges affiliated to universities. It is voluntary & selective. Only those self-disciplined students who have the leisure, willingness & aptitude for sustained social work can seek admission to the N.S.S.. The selection of student volunteers will be made mostly from degree classes. The maximum strength of student volunteers is limited to 100. The overall objective of the N.S.S. is the education of students through community service. The scheme is expected to inculcate in the students a sense of the need to participate in nation building by providing creative outlet for their energies.
